YouTubers Getting Unverified
In the last 24h lot of big time YouTube Personalities have lost their verification ticks from their channels. YouTube haven’t given any type of a response regarding this bug/decision (Whatever it may be) one thing is certain however. There has been multiple networks who have given badges to very small channels across YouTube even to channels with no videos or subscribers, which is rather sad.
From my network sources, there has been been statement from YouTube that getting verified now officially requires 100,000 subscribers, however all of the people mentioned on the video have above that number. This possibly could just be a glitch in the system or perhaps YouTube is changing how people are getting verified in the future.
Following people have been unverified so far
- Casey Neistat
- The Syndicate
- Shane Dawson
- and many others….
Earlier this year we wrote a guide How to get verified in YouTube, but it seems that Google has a incentive to change current system and perhaps require people to show even passports or other data to verify their identity to YouTube. I personally would want a better & more clear way to get verified for my channel going into the future, however we just have to wait statement from YouTube regarding this matter.
Just as a note, there was previously only two ways to lose verification mark on YouTube, you either had to get strike on the channel or change your channel name – this caused you to lose the mark, but since so many people lost their marks its hard to believe that they got strikes or changed their channels name. Stay tuned for more updates on this situation (we keep you on the track on this subject).
